The 5D Mark III had slightly higher resolution (22MP vs 20MP), but in almost every other detail the 6D’s sensor was superior. The other 4 cameras all offer usable dynamic range around the 8.4 stop region (the Nikon D700 has a little more highlight range than the 5D Mark II, but the overall range is very close). The original 5D still holds up well 3 years after it was first introduced. As mentioned above, enable Highlight Tone Priority and the 5D Mark II matches the A900.

Saved up for 5D Mk IV, decided on 6D Mark II instead after renting the 5D Rented the 5DMk4 and really loved it, but I can’t see how it’s worth $1500+ over the 6D Mark II. The main things people talk about include 4K video, better dynamic range, wider focus points, joystick selector, dual memory card slots.
Plus, the Canon 11-24mm F/4 is a really great lens and not something available from the other systems. But, I have to be honest, I would have loved to have some extra dynamic range from time to time, and my Canon 5D Mark II, and then Mark III, have definitely fallen short of the competitors in this category.
