Hello all. I have a 2019 GTI with the 7 speed DSG. In my owners manual, it says to service the DSG at 80,000 miles (about 129,000 km) yet the 6 speed DSG is at 40,000 miles (about 64,000) I was curious what your guys opinions on when I should service it and maybe an explanation why there's such a gap in service intervals between the two.
On page 62 (68) of the PDF you linked, all 2007 VW GTi/Golf have 2.0 liter engines and recommends the belt be changed at 90K (likely miles, not kilometers). According to the Bentley Publishers the Golf and GTi engine should replace the timing belt at either 80,000 miles (128,000 kilometers) or 120,000 miles (180,000 kilometers), depending on
Not to be a dick but Iāve found various guides on google by searching āgti mk7.5 maintenance intervalsā as for specific maintenance guides on oil changes or clutch etc also google them golf mk7 should have most of em. MG0331240 ā¢ 9 mo. ago. Shop DAP has a good guide he made.
The service manual does not indicate an interval for the GTI specifically but all of the other models referenced indicate four years or 40,000 miles. Seems crazy to change the plugs at 21,000 miles but I donāt want to take a chance on voiding the six-year/72K warranty either.
Does anybody have the mk8 GTI service schedule / maintenance schedule? Curious how the maintenance differs from previous years, if at all. Itās in the booklet in your glovebox. Oil every 10k DSG every 80k (but I wouldnāt wait that long) Spark plugs at 60k Brake fluid in 3 years and every 2 years after that. thank you though.
IMO, the second and subsequent intervals for DSG need to be less than 40k miles, especially if you drive in a hot climate. My ā10 shifted great for about 20k after the first change, after that point it started being its ornery clunky self again. Did the service at 80k as prescribed and the great shifting came back, but for less miles, like 10

Jan 8, 2020. #1. I just put a deposit on a used (2015) 1.6tdi golf. does anyone know when the cambelt is to be changed? I have read it is 130k miles and no time limit and also read it is to be changed at 5years or 130k whichever comes soonest. The car will be 5 years old in March so may need doing before I collect the car.
